What is the modern data stack?

The modern data stack typically includes a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery), an ETL/ELT tool (Fivetran, Airbyte), a transformation layer (dbt), and a BI visualization tool (Looker, Tableau). It's powerful but requires data engineers to build and maintain.

How much does a modern data stack cost?

The tooling alone (warehouse, ETL, transformation, BI) typically costs $50K-150K/year. The bigger cost is the data engineer to build and maintain it — averaging $180K+/year in salary. Total cost of ownership often exceeds $250K/year before producing a single insight.

Can Parse Labs replace my data stack?

For revenue intelligence use cases, yes. Parse Labs delivers autonomous revenue insights in 5 minutes without a data warehouse, ETL pipelines, or dbt models. For broader company-wide data needs beyond revenue (marketing analytics, product analytics, etc.), you may still need a data stack.

How long does it take to set up a modern data stack vs Parse Labs?

A modern data stack typically takes 6-18 months to fully implement — data warehouse setup, pipeline configuration, dbt modeling, and BI dashboard building. Parse Labs connects to your revenue tools in 5 minutes with pre-built models and starts delivering insights immediately.
